Food safety | Plans to ban use of pesticides in schools

JOHANNESBURG – The Basic Education Department is planning to ban the use of insecticides and pesticides at schools.
Minister Siviwe Gwarube says the regulations will be gazetted soon.

It comes as government moves to tackle deaths caused by poison in food.
Gwarube says the safety of School Nutrition Programmes will also be prioritised.
